Ian Murray

Ian has practiced law since his admission in 2007 and holds a Bachelor of Law (Honors) from Leeds Metropolitan University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the University of Sheffield. He has practiced exclusively in Personal Injury and Medical Negligence, Motor Vehicle Accident and Industrial Disease cases.

Since moving to Australia in 2012, he has worked exclusively as Plaintiff medical negligence lawyer, leading a department at a national plaintiff law firm in Perth before joining Blumers Lawyers in 2021.  Ian specialises in complex matters for clients and has been successful at Trial in the District Court of Western Australia, the Western Australia Supreme Court of Appeal and the High Court of Australia.

Ian has been listed in the prestigious Doyles Guide since 2017 and more recently as Leading Medical Negligence Lawyer.

Apart from football (soccer!), rugby league, cricket, politics, travel, music, books and podcasts, Ian is passionate about Medical Negligence, how he can unpick the details of a winning case and how he can help people as well as the rights of his clients.

Ian is also a member and on the board of the Australian Lawyers Alliance and a committee member of the WA branch. He’s appeared live radio in as a talk back guest on BBC5, Radio Sheffield, 6PR in Perth and has been interviewed on live cross for Channel 9, 7 and the ABC.

Outside of work and sport, Ian also enjoys running and spending time enjoying Perth’s stunning beaches with his young family.
